Welcome to Crowned & Citybound, a snapshot of my life so far. You might be wondering, “Who are you, and why should I read another blog?” (Let’s be honest, who even reads blogs these days?). Well, here’s a quick intro—think of it as your icebreaker.
My name is Kaitlin King (yes, Crowned was my idea – thank you for noticing) & I am a 27-year-old California girl who now calls NYC home. After graduating college in 2019, I spent 5 years working in accounting, until I realized I was completely unfulfilled & unhappy. I tried everything to shake things up: moving cities, changing jobs, even running a marathon (yes, I had a quarter-life crisis moment & went for it). It wasn’t until I decided to take a bold step out of my comfort zone & try something completely new that I found my path forward. I packed up my life in Dallas (yes, I’ve lived everywhere!), quit my job, & moved to NYC to pursue a Master’s in Marketing at Fordham University.
Leaving my full-time job at 27 & completely switching careers was one of the scariest things I have ever done, but I have not looked back once. If there is one thing I have learned, it is to not listen to the outside voices telling you what you should or shouldn’t do. No one knows you better than yourself – so trust your instincts, let yourself make mistakes, & chase what truly makes you happy.
I’m excited to share my journey through grad school, career navigation & city life. Whether it’s professional development, personal growth, or just the everyday ups and downs of living in New York, I hope you’ll find relatable content that resonates with your own experiences. Follow along for real, raw & honest insights into this crazy, beautiful chapter of life!
